My husband was awarded master of technique award in the Logan Basic technique and special mention for being an outstanding clinicians assistant at an awards breakfast the day before graduation. It was nice.
We sold our trailer and gave all the money towards the purchase of the business. We had already given the business owner we were buying from a significant amount down from saving extra borrowed tuition answer loan money. We still owed 30K even though we'd given him 20K. We found ourselves waiting for the state of Utah to get us the license. IN the mean time we put all of our posessions in my mother in laws garage. We thought they would only be there a month or two but there they stayed 19 months!
Due to the gag agreement in the details of what transpired between us and the original owner of the 6 yr old practice we purchased I can't tell you all about it but would LOVE to. Sparring details let me just say this involved a undisclosed lean, the original owner moving back within months, and family of the original owner owning our business lease. In RURAL UTAH!!
Let's just say he feels cheated, and we felt cheated. Pretty standard right of passage from college graduation and the real world story. Sort of like my husband living a real life Pinocchio scene with no cricket at his side but his faith in Christ and me. Typical prey mentality that senior chiropractors have. Guilt free self serving BS.
This post was started and saved as a draft for over a year. I resurrected and finished it today because I think it would serve the want to be chiropractor well.
The best way to avoid this is to refrain from going to chiopractic school in the first place. That act alone will spare you from extremely limiting options thereafter!
